the Lagorai range
In front of the dolomitic group of the Pale di San Martino, the easternmost slopes of the
Lagorai range stand out. This
vast mountain chain, made of volcanic rock (mainly porphyry, except for the granitic massif of Cima d’Asta) still harbours unspoilt landscapes that are a great attraction to
wilderness lovers.
The almost complete absence of human settlements gives these mountains a captivating aura, practically devoid of any sign of human activity if it were not for a few isolated mountain dairies. The
Lagorai range is criss-crossed with paths that allow you to set off on
long hikes from Passo Rolle, from San Martino di Castrozza or from Valle del Vanoi.
