EVERY VILLAGE, A DISCOVERY

Small, lively, and full of history — these are the villages of upper Primiero, today united with San Martino di Castrozza in one large municipality.

Take your time to explore them all: each one will tell you something more about the traditions and history of our valley! You can start with a stroll through the historic district of Fiera di Primiero, perfect for a bit of shopping or a delightful aperitivo with a view of the Pale di San Martino. Just a few steps away lies the hamlet of Pieve, with its majestic Archpriest Church and the fifteenth-century Palazzo delle Miniere, once the seat of the mining judge.

From there, the traces of the “Canopi” will lead you to Transacqua — a journey through history that will take you back to the days when silver and other precious metals were mined here, and the valley was known as the treasure chest of Tyrol. Tonadico, the “village art gallery,” will amaze you with its wealth of frescoes and paintings adorning the houses of the old town and the ancient Palazzo Scopoli, now home to the Casa del Cibo di Primiero. A visit to Siror, instead, will introduce you to mythical and legendary figures — from the skillful Mazaròl to the Auselón di Pisorno and the fearsome Caza Beatrich — all brought to life on large wooden panels that line the village streets and tell the local legends.

Want to take a moment just for yourself? The villages of Primiero are surrounded by trails and paths suitable for every pace and age, allowing you to move in an instant from the lively village atmosphere to the rejuvenating silence of nature.
