Located at an altitude of 1,980 meters above sea level, the Passo Rolle mountain pass connects San Martino di Castrozza with the other Dolomite valleys.
This small settlement consists of a few hotels, restaurants, bars, and shops, lying at the foot of the magnificent amphitheater of the Pale di San Martino, the southwestern gateway to the UNESCO World Heritage Dolomites.
The area, dominated by the unmistakable profile of Cimon della Pala (3,186 m), is in summer an excellent starting point for walks, hikes, and mountain bike excursions.
Among the most popular destinations are the stunning Val Venegia, the Colbricon Lakes, and the “Cristo Pensante” (Thinking Christ), which can be reached along the trekking route of the same name.
