vAL VENEGIA
Val Venegia offers a spectacular view of the northern side of the Pale di San Martino and is a glacial valley of great natural beauty. Crossed by pastures and streams, it is one of the gems of the Paneveggio Pale di San Martino Nature Park and is perfect for an easy hike amid majestic landscapes.
The name “Venegia” recalls Venice, historically linked to the timber trade in the area. The valley is home to two mountain dairies (malghe) and serves as the starting point for the trail to Rifugio Mulaz.
PLATEAU OF THE PALE DI SAN MARTINO
The central plateau of the Pale di San Martino is a vast and rugged rocky area, situated between 2,500 and 2,700 meters above sea level, creating a striking and lunar-like panorama. Its uneven terrain demands careful footing on the rocks. Located within the Paneveggio Pale di San Martino Nature Park, it has long fascinated climbers and writers such as Dino Buzzati. Today, it can also be explored via the Palaronda Trek, a multi-day hiking experience from hut to hut.
vAL canali
Val Canali, located between 1,000 and 1,400 meters and just a few kilometers from Fiera di Primiero, is a stunning Alpine valley in the heart of the Nature Park. Perfect for active holidays, it provides direct access to the Pale di San Martino with breathtaking views. In summer, a shuttle connects Primiero to promote sustainable tourism. Since 2025, a new walking trail passing beneath the ruins of Castel Pietra has expanded exploration opportunities.
