In San Martino di Castrozza, nature and culture go hand in hand: from the Paneveggio-Pale di San Martino Park visitor centres at Paneveggio, Val Canali and San Martino, to the experiences of the Vanoi Ecomuseum – there are plenty of activities to help you see the area with fresh eyes.
NATURE AND CULTURE

Suona Foresta
The new “Suona Foresta” (“The Forest Plays”) visitor centre offers a sensory immersion in the heart of the “Violin Forest”, famous for its resonance wood. The exhibition invites you to discover the forest as a natural sanctuary, where each step, sound and shape tells the story of the forest’s life.
Visiting the centre is the perfect prelude to experiencing nature: it helps you tune your eyes and ears to details and sounds often missed. Nearby, a large enclosure allows you to observe deer up close. The Marciò Trail also starts from here – an easy nature path accessible year-round, with illustrated observation points.
VILLA WELSPERG
Villa Welsperg, the Park’s administrative headquarters, also houses one of the Paneveggio-Pale di San Martino visitor centres. Inside you’ll find exhibits on the protected area’s different natural environments, a themed library dedicated to Dino Buzzati, and the “fisioteca” – a unique collection of park materials and essences to touch and explore.
Outside, a trail through a pond, centuries-old lime and beech trees, a herb garden and the “Campo Custode” offers a peaceful chance to reconnect with nature, even in winter.
