SUSTAINABILITY NEVER TAKES A BREAK 

If you’re thinking of spending a few days at the foot of the Pale di San Martino, you’re already someone who cares about nature! A large part of our area is in fact part of the Paneveggio-Pale di San Martino Natural Park, famous for its spruce-rich forests, its biodiversity, its alpine environments of rare beauty and, of course, the spectacular Dolomites, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. 

But there’s more: in this corner of Trentino we use only clean energy! This means that when you go up the mountain with the lifts, every time you choose to travel by electric car, when you pedal on an e-bike and even while charging your smartphone, you’re doing it with respect for the environment. 

For the municipalities of the Primiero and Vanoi Valleys, declared 100% renewable by Legambiente, water and wood are two extremely precious resources since they power no fewer than 13 hydroelectric plants and two biomass plants! This has allowed us to drastically cut our CO2 emissions and look towards a more sustainable future, convinced that low-impact living is possible – and above all achievable! 

Since 2022, the Municipality of Primiero San Martino di Castrozza has also joined the Alpine Pearls network, an international association of 18 tourist destinations in four Alpine countries united by the promotion of eco-friendly and sustainable tourism. Countless hotels and restaurants have joined the sustainable development project “Move AP!”, pledging practical measures on mobility and plastic reduction to offer you a holiday in harmony with nature and focused on low-impact mobility!
