The tabià de la Gema is part of a rural building divided into a stable and a barn. The traditional stone and wood construction is accompanied by uncommon details, creating, together with the manor house located in front, a valuable corner.
The name preserves the memory of the owner, the first woman mayor in Trentino and a significant figure for the town of Mezzano. From a rural and peasant family, she herself, intelligent and tenacious, active until late in life, transferred the values and culture of the land to public administration and associations.
Today the Tabià de la Gema is an intense and engaging place. There are about fifteen cribs in the stable, built with patience and skill by Mario Corona. The first floor of the barn is dedicated to very suggestive and participated musical or theatrical evenings.
