Fourth stage of the Primiero Slow Tour that leads from Rifugio Fonteghi to Rifugio Vederna via the Giant Fir Path and forest road 733
From Rifugio Fonteghi take path 735 which climbs on the left, crossing Piadochin, and arrives at the forest road of the meadows of Valpiana di Sotto (trail marker 733). Continue until you reach a junction which marks the beginning of the Giant Fir Path, the thematic circular route created by the municipality of Mezzano to discover the majestic red and white firs present in the area, among the tallest in Trentino. Starting the path on the left follow it to the locality "Pozza dell'Ors" first and then to Malga Val de Stua di Sopra, an old mountain hut used for summer grazing, located in a panoramic position at the foot of the Feltrine Peaks. From the hut take the forest road that leads to a newly created variant that descends on the left connecting to trail 733, to be taken westwards. This road, not particularly demanding but quite long, allows to reach Rifugio Vederna in about 2 hours of walking (always following trail marker 733). In the final stretch, after Col Camoz, the view, until then closed by surrounding woods, opens up to the extensive pastures of Pian Grant, where Rifugio Vederna and the nearby chapel of Madonna della Neve are clearly visible.
