The testimonies of those who lived through the flood of '66, the photographs of the devastated towns, and discussions with experts on today's climate challenges. On November 4 and 5, Primiero and Vanoi remember one of the most dramatic chapters in their history with a program coordinated by the Primiero Community, featuring public meetings, widespread photographic exhibitions, and activities with schools. An anniversary that looks to the present and the future, from territorial safety to the prevention of hydrogeological risk and climate change.

A public evening introduced by the president of the Primiero Community, Bortolo Rattin, and moderated by Graziano Cosner of the Cultural Office of the Municipality of Primiero San Martino di Castrozza.
The evening will begin with testimonies from those who experienced the flood of 1966 firsthand: evacuees from Primiero and Vanoi and rescuers from Feltre, including those who helped restore connections with the isolated valley through a radio bridge.
Following will be the intervention of Mario Cerato, former director of the Mountain Basins Service of the Autonomous Province of Trento, who will address the topic From the disaster of 1966 to hydraulic defense in Primiero, retracing the evolution of territorial protection measures in the sixty years since the flood.
From hydraulic safety, the focus will shift to climate change with Gianni Marigo, director of Arpav, the regional agency for environmental prevention and protection in Veneto, who will discuss Climate change in the mountains: causes and local evidence, deepening the transformations of the climate and their manifestations in the mountain territory.
To conclude the evening, there will be Rebalton66 – A reflection on the flood, a theatrical reading by and with Emiliano Oddone, geologist, trainer, and communicator, founder of Dolomiti Project.
