Screening of the docu-film “For Silence and Wind”.
Director: Marco Zuin
Screenwriter: Matteo Righetto
Production Company: L'eubage srl, Albolina Film
Alternating Super8 archival footage with contemporary images, "For Silence and Wind" follows the perspective of writer Matteo Righetto and his encounters with climbers from different generations who experience the mountains. Together, they traverse the spectacular routes of the Dolomites, reflecting on the contradictions that echo within them. The documentary showcases the contrast between the ancestral bond with nature, illustrated by initial images of fossils, meadows, and animal tracks, and the disregard of urban frenzy, manifested by traffic jams of cars and tourists and climbers indifferent to the new fragility of the environment. The film thus reflects on the ethical value of high altitude, moving away from mountaineering as a challenge or sporting endeavor, evolving instead into a deep listening and new awareness.
