The proposed tours are based on a 4/6 days circuit on well-indicated paths, with an overnight stay in the warm atmosphere of the alpine huts.

  • 1°Day: (San Martino di Castrozza – Rosetta Hut) –  4 hrs - uphill height difference: 1000 mt. 
    From San Martino di Castrozza along the path 701 to the Rosetta Hut, situated on the eastern edge of the plateau at 2581mt (alternatively you can use Colverde-Rosetta cableway). With an easy walk (20 minutes)  you can reach the Cima Rosetta (2939mt ). Dinner and overnight at Rosetta Hut.

  • 2°Day: (Rosetta Hut – Fradusta Glacier – Pradidali Hut) – 3hrs - uphill height difference: 300mt.
    From the Rosetta Hut along the path 709 to the Fradusta glacier you reach the Passo Pradidali Basso, from here on the left side you can reach the Fradusta peak (2939mt), in the heart of the Pala group. Then return to the Pradidali Pass (1.30 h) where you can see the Pradidali Hut at the end of the valley. Dinner and overnight at Pradidali Hut.

  • 3°Day: (Pradidali Hut – Canali Treviso Hut) – 5 hrs - height difference: 1100mt down, 300mt up.
    From the Pradidali Hut along the path 709 in the Pradidali Valley, surrounded by the beautiful mountains, you reach the “Malga Canali” and then in 1 hour walk to the Treviso Hut along the path 707 through larch forest. Dinner and overnight at Treviso Hut.

  • 4°Day: (Canali Treviso Hut -  Rosetta Hut - San Martino di Castrozza) – 7hrs - uphill height difference: 1000mt.
    From the Treviso Hut on the path 707 through the Canali Pass (3hrs) you reach the Pala plateau and from here in 3 hrs the Rosetta Hut again where you can catch the cableway back to San Martino.

  • 1st STAGE – 6h/+765m/-165m
    From Passo Rolle (car park of the old Segantini chairlift), follow the 710 path up to the chalet of Baita Segantini (2.174 m.a.s.l.). From there, walk down to Val Venegia through the pasture of Pian della Vezzana (2.010 m.a.s.l.) to gradually go up following the 749 path to “Passo di Venegiota”. Take the path on the right and continue on the 751 track following the trail n. 2 of the Alta Via Dolomiti route, which runs along the eastern side of Mulaz to finally reach the Mulaz Hut (2.571 m.a.s.l.). If you leave in the afternoon, as an alternative it is possible to take a faster route to get to the Hut: follow the 710 path called “Quinto Scalet” which from Pian della Vezzana goes up to Passo del Mulaz (2.619 m.a.s.l.) and then descend to the Mulaz Hut. Once on the Pass called Passo del Mulaz, it is possible to reach the top of the mountain (2.906  m.a.s.l.) following the tracks and the red trail signs for about 40 minutes to finally enjoy the wonderful panorama of the entire mountain range of Pale di San Martino and the surrounding peaks.
  • 2nd STAGE – 5h/+790m/-780m
    From the Mulaz Hut (2.571 m.a.s.l.) climb up heading South and the saddle called Forcella Margherita (2.655 m.a.s.l.) following the 703 path, at the bottom of Cima del Focobon. After about 30 minutes, take the via ferrata which leads to Passo delle Farangole (2.814 m.a.s.l.) to descend along the Val Grande heading to Val delle Comelle, following the the trail n. 2 of the Alta Via Dolomiti route up to an altitude of 2.290 metres above sea level. Walk on the slight slope which runs along the northern side of Val delle Comelle, to reach the so called Pian dei Cantoni (2.313 m.a.s.l.) and then climb up to the Rosetta Hut (2.581 m.a.s.l.).Possible variation:  from the Val Grande, before walking down the gorge of Comelle, take the 716 path heading to the bivouac called Bivacco Brunner (2.667 m.a.s.l.) and then climb up to Cima della Vezzana (3.192 m.a.s.l., the highest peak of Pale di San Martino) on the via ferrata called Gabitta d’Ignoti. From the top of Vezzana, walk downhill heading to Travignolo Pass and then to Val dei Cantoni along the 716 path, walk up to Bettega Pass (2.660 m.a.s.l) and finally reach the Pale di San Martino plateau and the Rosetta Hut (2.581 m.a.s.l).
  • 3rd STAGE - 8h/+1.270m/-1.570m
    From the Rosetta Hut walk downhill on the 701 path towards San Martino di Castrozza, once at an altitude 2.300 metres above sea level, take the 712 path (also called “dei Finanzieri” path) until you get to the start of the Bolver Lugli al Cimon della Pala via ferrata, recently renovated. This very panoramic and lofty via ferrata goes up the southern side of Cimon della Pala and permits to reach the Fiamme Gialle bivouac (3.005 m.a.s.l.). From the bivouac, walk downhill towards Passo del Travignolo (2.935 m.a.s.l.), to admire the wonderful view on the Val Venegia and the route of the first day of the Tour. To get back to the Rosetta Hut, walk down the Val dei Cantoni on the 716 path to climb up to Passo Bettega (2.660 m.a.s.l.) and then reach the Pale di San Martino plateau and the Hut. From here, it is possible to get back to Passo Rolle following the 701 path first and then the 712 path (also called “dei Finanzieri” path) or you can enjoy the descent on the Rosetta tramway and the Colverde gondolas to reach San Martino di Castrozza and then get back to Passo Rolle by bus or by taxi.
    Possible variation: From Passo del Travignolo, it is possible to climb up in about one hour to the top of the near Cima della Vezzana (3.192 m.a.s.l.) following the 716 path, to reach the highest Peak of the mountain range of Pale di San Martino.

The Quick Southern Tour runs on the central-southern side of the mountain range of Pale di San Martino with start and finish in San Martino di Castrozza, and includes the Ferrata del Velo, the Ferrata del Porton and several stretches on equipped paths. 1ST STAGE – 6h/+510m/-730m

From San Martino di Castrozza, reach the Pale plateau with a ride on the Colverde gondolas and then on the Rosetta tramway (2.670 m.a.s.l.). From the tramway mountain station, descend along the 702 path to Col dele Fede (2.278 m.a.s.l.), then take the 715 path up to Passo di Ball (2.443 m.a.s.l.). From the Pass, go up on the 714 path along the Nico Gusela equipped path to reach the saddle called Forcella Stephen and the nearby Cima di Val di Roda (2.791 m.a.s.l.), from where it is possible to enjoy the breathtaking panorama of San Martino di Castrozza. Climb down to Porton locality (2.480 m.a.s.l.) on the 714 path and then take the 739 path and the Velo della Madonna via ferrata until you get to the namesake Hut (2.358 m.a.s.l.).

2nd STAGE – 6h/+840m/-900m
From the Velo della Madonna Hut, go up to Cima della Stanga (2.550 m.a.s.l.) along the 742 path (also called the “del Cacciatore” path),  walking down Val Pradidali under the impressive eastern face of Sass Maor. Once you get to the spot called Pedemonte (also “Pòrtela” 1.627 m.a.s.l.) continue on the 709 path towards the Pradidali Hut (2.278 m. s.l.m.).
Alternatively, from Cima della Stanga it is possible to follow the 747 path (also called “Buzzati” path) instead of the “del Cacciatore” path, which in locality Pedemonte (Portèla) joins the original route.

3rd STAGE - 6h/+200m/-1.030m
From the Pradidali Hut proceed towards the Velo della Madonna Hut following the 739 trail sign; after a 30 minute walk, take the via ferrata called Ferrata del Porton. Once on the top of the via ferrata you get to the spot called Porton (2.480 m.a.s.l.) which overlooks San Martino di Castrozza, destination of the Palaronda Ferrata 360. Go down following the 739b path and then descend the via ferrata “dela Vecia”, walking on the 721 path first and then on the 702 path to finally reach San Martino di Castrozza (1.450 m.a.s.l.).

  • 1st STAGE – 7h/+1.570m/-990m
    From San Martino di Castrozza, take the Colverde Cableway and then the 712 path to reach the start of the recently renovated via ferrata called “Bolver Lugli al Cimon della Pala”. This very panoramic and lofty via ferrata goes up the southern side of Cimon della Pala and permits to reach the Fiamme Gialle bivouac (3.005 m.a.s.l.). From the bivouac, walk downhill towards Passo del Travignolo (2.935 m.a.s.l.), to admire the wonderful view on Val Venegia. From Passo del Travignolo, in about one hour it is possible to climb up to the top of the near Cima della Vezzana (3.192 m.a.s.l.) following the 716 path, and reach the highest Peak of the mountain range of Pale di San Martino. To get back to the Rosetta Hut, walk down the slope of Val dei Cantoni on the 716 path and climb up to Passo Bettega (2.660 m.a.s.l.), then reach the Pale di San Martino plateau and the Hut (2.581 m.a.s.l.).
  • 2nd STAGE – 6h/+510m/-730m

  • 1st STAGE – 7h/+1.550m/-1.200m
    From the Malga Canali car park (1.300 m.a.s.l.) follow the 707 path towards Treviso “Canali” Hut and Passo Canali. Once you get to the Hut, after a walk of about 2 hours, take the via ferrata “Fiamme Gialle” on the right to reach the bivouac called Bivacco Reali (2.595 m.a.s.l.).To return to the Hut, follow the trail which from Croda Granda runs along the southern crest towards Bivacco Menegazzi and the saddle of Forcella delle Mughe (2.244 m.a.s.l.); from here, pass the crest and go downhill to get back to the Treviso “Canali” Hut (1.634 m.a.s.l.).Possible variation: From Bivacco Reali it is possible to reach, in a walk of about one hour, the top of Croda Granda (2.849 m.a.s.l.).
  • 2nd STAGE – 5h/+1.260m/-620m
    From the Treviso Hut, go down along the 707 path to reach, after about 30 minutes, the 711 path. Climb along the 711 path up to the bivouac called Bivacco Minazio (2.250 m.a.s.l.) and the Pass called Passo delle Lede (2.695 m.a.s.l.). From the Pass, walk on a short equipped path which runs along Val Pradidali and then crosses the 709 path, a trail which in a walk of about one hour permits to reach the Pradidali Hut (2.278 m.a.s.l.). 
  • 3rd STAGE - 4h/+200m/-120m
    From the Pradidali Hut proceed towards the Velo della Madonna Hut following the 739 trail sign; after a 30 minute walk, take the via ferrata called Ferrata del Porton. Once on the top of the via ferrata you will get to the panoramic spot called Porton (2.480 m.a.s.l.) to enjoy the view on San Martino di Castrozza. Follow the 739 path and get to the Velo della Madonna  Hut (2.358 m.a.s.l.) climbing the namesake via ferrata.
  • 4th STAGE - 5h/+220m/-1.200m
    From the Velo della Madonna Hut, go up to Cima della Stanga (2.550 m.a.s.l.) along the 742 path (also called the “del Cacciatore” path),  walking down the Val Pradidali under the impressive eastern face of Sass Maor. Once you get to the spot called Pedemonte (also “Pòrtela” 1.627 m.a.s.l.) continue on the 709 path towards Malga Pradidali (1.428 m.a.s.l.) and then Malga Canali (1.302 m.a.s.l.).

  • 1st STAGE – 3h/+1.000m/-165mFrom San Martino di Castrozza we get to the magnificent Plateau of the Pale using the Colverde – Rosetta funicular; from the plateau, we follow the footpaths 702 and 715 across the beautiful Val di Roda to reach the Pradidali Hut in about 2.30 hours.
  • 2nd STAGE – 5h/+430m/-350mFrom the Pradidali Hut is possible to reach Velo della Madonna Hut with 2 different routes: the first one through the Porton and Velo via ferratas, these tracks are very exposed but well equipped, they get across steep cliffs and deep valleys (about 4.30 hours). The second route permits to get to the Velo della Madonna Hut through the Nico Gusela cable-aided path (with the possibility to reach the top of  Cima Val di Roda and then to), and then through the medium-level Velo via ferrata (about 3.30 hours).
  • 3rd STAGE – 5h/+300m/-1.100mFrom the Velo Hut, we reach the Canali “Treviso” Refuge through the beautiful hiking path named “del Cacciatore”, which runs from the bottom of the amazing  face of the Sass Maor massif, through steep grassy slopes to the Val Pradidali. From here we walk on the footpath across the wood to get to the Hut (about 5 hours).
  • 4th STAGE – 7h/+1.100m/-100mWalking on the footpath 707 from the Canali “Treviso” Hut, we reach Passo Canali and thus the eastern edge of the Plateau. We follow the footpath 707 to get near the Fradusta glacier; from here, we can go up to the Cima Fradusta (2939 m) in about 1.30 hours, and then reach the Rosetta Hut (SAT) in about 6 hours. In the evening, don’t miss the spectacular sunset and the amazing view from the Cima Rosetta (just a 20 minute walk far from the Rosetta Hut).
  • 5th STAGE – 5h/+750m/-760mFrom Rosetta Refuge, we follow the footpath 703 (also known as “delle Farangole” footpath) to the “pian dei Cantoni” (2300 m); this path goes across the Cimon della Pala massif (3184 m) and the Vezzana peak (3192 m). We go forward, through the Val delle Galline, walking above the  Val delle Comelle. We will then find on the left the track which leads to the Brunner bivouac (2750 m) through the Val Strutt. From the bivouac we leave the track and then proceed toward Cima di Valgrande (3038 m), we walk surrounding the bottom of the peak of Torcia di Valgrande; from here, we come up through an aided-canal which leads to the Passo delle Farangole (2814 m). On the right, the peak of the campanile del Focobon (2969 m) dominates over the Pass, while on the left the Viennese Tower (2900 m) shows its unique silhouette. From the Passo delle Farangole we descend down a path on the right, toward the saddle of Forcella Margherita (2655 m); from here we will easily get to the Mulaz Hut (2571 m).
  • 6th STAGE – 5h/+200m/-1.200mFrom the Mulaz Refuge we get to Passo del Mulaz (2610 m). Before getting to the Pass, with an easy ascent of about 45 minutes it’s possible to reach the top of the Mulaz peak (2906 m), to enjoy the stunning panorama. We then go down toward Val Venegia through the footpath 710 “Quinto Scalet”; from the path we can admire the amazing natural architectures of the peak of the Campanile di Valgrande (2995 m), the Cima di Valgrande (3038 m) and cima dei Bureloni (3130 m). We then will arrive to the Campigol della Vezzana, just beneath the homonymous peak, and thus at the Travignolo springs. From here, we move up to the chalet of Baita Segantini (2170 m), and a shuttle bus will bring us down to Passo Rolle. We will come back to San Martino di Castrozza by bus, using public transports. Another route starts from Baita Segantini: it is possible to walk toward the pasture of Malga Fosse following the footpath 712 “dei Finanzieri”, then go on to the chalet Rifugio Col Verde (2000 m). From the chalet Col Verde you can choose to take the funicular or to walk down the footpath 701 toward San Martino di Castrozza. We highly suggest to check in advance the timetable of the shuttle bus, of the public transports and of the Colverde funicular.

Take the path on the right and continue on the 751 track following the trail n. 2 of the Alta Via Dolomiti route, which runs along the eastern side of Mulaz to finally reach the Mulaz Hut (2.571 m.a.s.l.) after a short equipped path. Walk on the slight slope which runs along the northern side of Val delle Comelle, to reach the so called Pian dei Cantoni (2.313 m.a.s.l.) and then climb up to the Rosetta Hut (2.581 m.a.s.l.).Possible variation: from Val Grande, before walking down the gorge of Comelle, take the 716 path heading to the bivouac called Bivacco Brunner (2.667 m.a.s.l.) and then climb up to Cima della Vezzana (3.192 m.a.s.l., the highest peak of Pale di San Martino) on the via ferrata called Gabitta d’Ignoti. From the top of Vezzana, walk downhill heading to Travignolo Pass and then to Val dei Cantoni along the 716 path, walk up to Bettega Pass (2.660 m.a.s.l) and finally reach the Pale di San Martino plateau and the Rosetta Hut (2.581 m.a.s.l).
  • 3rd STAGE - h/+1.270m/-1.270m
    From the Rosetta Hut walk downhill on the 701 path towards San Martino di Castrozza, once at an altitude 2.300 metres above sea level, take the 712 path (also called “dei Finanzieri” path) until you get to the start of the Bolver Lugli al Cimon della Pala, a recently renovated via ferrata. This very panoramic and lofty via ferrata goes up the southern side of Cimon della Pala and permits to reach the Fiamme Gialle bivouac (3.005 m.a.s.l.). From the bivouac, walk downhill towards Passo del Travignolo (2.935 m.a.s.l.), to admire the wonderful view on the Val Venegia and the route of the first day of the Tour. To get back to Rosetta Hut, walk down Val dei Cantoni on the 716 path to climb up to Passo Bettega (2.660 m.a.s.l.) and then reach the Pale di San Martino plateau and the Hut.Possible variation: From Passo del Travignolo, in about one hour it is possible to climb up to the top of the near Cima della Vezzana (3.192 m.a.s.l.) following the 716 path, and reach the highest peak of the mountain range of Pale di San Martino.
  • 4th STAGE - 5h/+510m/-730m
    From the Rosetta Hut (2.581 m.a.s.l.) walk on the 702 path down to Col dele Fede (2.278 m.a.s.l.), keep left and take the 715 path up to Passo di Ball (2.443 m.a.s.l.). From the Pass, go up on the 714 path along the Nico Gusela equipped path to reach the saddle called Forcella Stephen and the nearby Cima di Val di Roda (2.791 m.a.s.l.), from where it is possible to enjoy the breathtaking panorama of San Martino di Castrozza. Climb down to the spot called Porton (2.480 m.a.s.l.) on the 714 path and then take the 739 path and the Velo della Madonna via ferrata until you get to the namesake Hut (2.358 m.a.s.l.).
  • 5th STAGE - 6h/+520m/-1.200m
    From the Velo della Madonna Hut, go up to Cima della Stanga (2.550 m.a.s.l.) along the 742 path (also called “del Cacciatore” path)  walking down the Val Pradidali under the impressive eastern face of Sass Maor. Once you get to the spot called Pedemonte (also “Pòrtela” 1.627 m.a.s.l.) follow the 709 path towards the ruins of Malga Pradidali (1.428 m.a.s.l.) to finally reach Malga Canali (1.302 m.a.s.l.). Continue on the forest road and follow the trail sign number 707 up to an altitude of 1.428 metres; from here, climb up to Treviso “Canali” Hut (1.634 m.a.s.l.). Possible variation: an option to fill your day once you get to the Treviso “Canali” Hut, is to climb on the nearby via ferrata called “del Canalone”, just 5 minutes far from the Hut, the 720 path will then lead you back to the Hut in about 2 hours.
  • 6th STAGE - 6h/+1.200m/-1.200m
    From the Treviso “Canali” Hut follow the 707 path towards Passo Canali, in about 2 hours take the Fiamme Gialle via ferrata to get to the bivouac called Bivacco Reali (2.595 m.a.s.l.). From Bivacco Reali it is possible to reach, in a walk of about one hour, the top of Croda Granda (2.849 m.a.s.l.). To return to the Hut, follow the trail which from Croda Granda runs along the southern crest towards Bivacco Menegazzi and the saddle of Forcella delle Mughe (2.244 m.a.s.l.); from here, pass the crest and go downhill to get back to the Treviso “Canali” Hut (1.634 m.a.s.l.).
  • 7th STAGE - 5h/+1.260m/-620m
    From the Treviso Hut go down along the 707 path to reach, after about 30 minutes, the 711 path. Climb along the 711 path up to the bivouac called Bivacco Minazio (2.250 m.a.s.l.) and get to Passo delle Lede (2.695 m.a.s.l.). From the Pass, walk on the short equipped path which runs along Val Pradidali and then crosses the 709 path, a trail which in a walk of about one hour permits to reach the Pradidali Hut (2.278 m.a.s.l.).
  • 8th STAGE - 6h/+200m/-1.030m
    From the Pradidali Hut proceed towards the Velo della Madonna Hut following the 739 trail sign; after a 30 minute walk, take the via ferrata called Ferrata del Porton. Once on the top of the via ferrata you will get to the panoramic spot called Porton (2.480 m.a.s.l.) to enjoy the beautiful view of San Martino di Castrozza, destination of the Palaronda Ferrata 360. Go down following the 739b path and then descend the via ferrata “dela Vecia”, walking on the 721 path first and then on the 702 path to finally reach San Martino di Castrozza (1.450 m.a.s.l.).
