The Aquile di San Martino are great storytellers – faithful guardians of all the mountain’s secrets – and they love to share them during their excursions. A day spent in their company is not only a journey of discovery through the region, but also an encounter with its people, customs and local traditions. The Guides are always ready with advice and suggestions for those who prefer to organise their own outings. Several hotels have special agreements with the Alpine Guides, offering their guests the chance to take part in guided excursions.

Founded in 1881, the San Martino and Primiero “Aquile” Alpine Guides continue a long mountaineering tradition begun by pioneers Michele Bettega, Bortolo Zagonel, Antonio Tavernaro and Giuseppe Zecchini. Today around 40 professionals guide guests safely through the Pale di San Martino, the Lagorai and the Dolomites, with summer and winter proposals for every level and need.
