Alpine Pearls hosts, carefully selected, are fully dedicated to sustainability and have joined the “Move Ap!” project. Over the next three years, they have committed to reducing plastic use and implementing concrete actions to promote sustainable mobility.
What does this mean in practice?
On the mobility front (Alpine Pearls host criteria), these accommodations have pledged to:
- Facilitate — and, upon request with adequate notice, provide — transfers from the nearest active train station or bus stop (last mile) for guests arriving by public transport;
- Issue the Guest Card to their clients, preferably in advance at the time of booking confirmation and digitally (unless the guest specifically requests a paper version);
- Share local tourist mobility solutions on their digital channels or on-site (e.g., public transport schedules, park shuttles, winter ski buses);
- Communicate via digital (social media, website, email) and printed channels (brochures, leaflets) about “soft mobility” options (e.g., bike/e-bike rentals, electric charging stations for cars or e-bikes, organized excursions).
On the plastic reduction front, hosts have committed to:
- Gradually reduce and eliminate single-use plastic products of all types and sizes;
- Clearly indicate recycling bins for guests (e.g., in rooms, common areas, and staff areas);
- Choose items such as tablecloths, toilet paper, tissues, napkins, and paper towels without packaging or with FSC-certified recycled paper packaging.
These initiatives cover various aspects of sustainable development in line with the UN SDGs.
