Among trails and refuges, the ideal place for hiking and climbing. Centuries of mountain life are told by the ethnographic path of the Vanoi Ecomuseum.
Established in 1967 around the woods of the Magnifica Comunità di Fiemme, the park is home to the Pale di San Martino, a UNESCO heritage site, and the Fradusta glacier, loved by English explorers and the writer Dino Buzzati. The beauty of nature, however, is only one of the reasons for the charm of the place: centuries of mountain life, with its uses, customs and flavours, are in fact enclosed in the ethnographic path of the Ecomuseo del Vanoi. Between alpine huts and mountain huts you can enjoy butter and homemade cheeses, perhaps at the end of a hike or a climb. The park's main hub, with the Visitor Centre, is at Villa Welsperg. Other centres are located in Paneveggio and San Martino di Castrozza. Finally, animal lovers should keep their eyes peeled, because this is the realm of the deer.
