The "Rifugio del libro" is an altitude reading point, at the forest house on the east side of Mount Bedolè, where you can browse a book with a view of the Pale di San Martino, in an unspoilt place of great silence. It has been designed for those who frequent the mountain not only for hiking but also for cultural purposes.
The structure is made of wooden logs ("stellar") and with a roof in ‘shingles’, the traditional poor wood slats used in mountain architecture to cover the roofs and facades of buildings. The windows are in lamellar larch and in particular, on the east facade, there is a fixed panoramic window. Internally, on this wall, a wooden bookcase and closed doors have been created with an electrical panel and various objects for the use of users. For the lighting, internal only, an electrical system equipped with a photovoltaic panel with its storage battery has been prepared.
The "Rifugio del libro" can be reached from the town of Pieve by following the "Strada Comunale dell 'Empire", the "Strada Pian dei Ciari" and the "Bedolè Alta".
We also wanted to block access to it to make it usable even for those with some motor difficulties. Inside there are volumes that cover both the local history and that of the mountains that surround us.
