A path suitable for all that winds through a forest of larches and firs, leading to the two bodies of water and the homonymous refuge.
The fastest route to the lakes is from Malga Rolle, but they can also be reached from Malga Ces, above San Martino di Castrozza, with a half-hour walk: we are in the Paneveggio-Pale di San Martino Nature Park, between Rolle Pass and Colbricon Pass, and the spectacle that you can enjoy once you arrive is unique. The ponds, of glacial origin, rise at 1909 and 1922 meters above sea level respectively, and are surrounded by dwarf bushes, rhododendrons and junipers. Many hikes can be enjoyed in the valleys and nearby mountains, with the Colbricon alpine refuge easily reached on foot along a path that is not too difficult. The entire area was the scene of war between the Italians and the Austrians between 1915 and 1918. Along the shores, finds dating back to the Mesolithic have been found.
STRENGTH
An interesting area from a naturalistic and archaeological point of view.
