Valpiana Loop

The Valpiana Loop is a walking trail that winds through the meadows of Valpiana in Val Noana.From the Fonteghi Mountain Hut, take the trail that branches off to the right and, after about ten minutes of walking, turn right and follow the forest road called “Valpiana Aie,” which winds upward in switchbacks and leads to Malga Valpiana. Once you reach the mountain pasture, take the dirt road that descends to the right and continue until you reach the Valpiana Forest Lodge. Here, turn right again and follow the dirt road that passes near the forest hut and continues on flat ground along the slope of Monte Piadochìn; from here, you can see the meadows of Valpiana di Sotto below. The road then winds through the meadows and mountain huts of Valpiana di Sopra; once past these, it turns into a trail that descends and leads back to the Fonteghi Mountain Hut.Near Malga Valpiana and the Valpiana Forest Lodge, there are tables with benches where you can eat a packed lunch. The Malga and the Forest Lodge are closed and should not be considered places to eat.
