Solan

The walk starts from the locality Pecolét (950 m a.s.l.), adjacent to the SP79 road of Passo Broccón, about 4 km from Imèr and 1.5 km from Passo Gòbbera. Coming from Imèr, from the clearing with large parking area, head right, towards N, along the asphalt road (Path No. 357 “Via Nòva”) which, after two easy hairpin bends, leads to the junction at the locality Col dei Faghèri (975 m a.s.l.); from here the walk continues following the asphalt road to the left, towards W. The ascent proceeds through a particular wooded area, alternating common firs and larches with the presence of beeches – which gives the name to Col dei Faghèri -; furthermore, on the steepest parts, the limestone rock ground favors the growth of Scots pine. From late summer to early autumn, this area is rich in cyclamens. 

After this ascent segment, the road leaves the woods near the locality of Solàn Grànt (1,010 m a.s.l.), a special place due to the striking beech tree in the centre of the meadow (Fagherón de Solàn). From here the panorama opens wide, with an unusual angle, both on the Primiero Valley and, in the background, on the dolomitic group of Cimonega. 

From Solàn Grànt the route continues always following the asphalt road, which rises alternating woods and small clearings until reaching a junction with several roads starting on the right. From the junction the route continues taking the third dirt road towards the various farmhouses on the right, heading to Baladói. The road quickly leads to the “masi” of Baladói (1,105 m a.s.l.), the highest point of the route. After passing some “casère” buildings where the road ends, the route begins the descent following, over the meadow, a little visible path that leads directly to the forest road “Baladói”, which you take to the right, towards SW. The road continues flat along the edge of the woods, about a hundred meters below the junction where you reached Baladói. Arriving near the farmhouses of the locality Stalón, continue downhill, taking the path that crosses the meadow and enters the wood starting below the right farmhouse (“Tabia Stalón”). The path continues steadily downhill through the forest until reaching the farmhouses of Solàn (“Maso Prà” – 928 m a.s.l.), where you take again, to the right towards SW, the asphalt road of Path No. 357 “Via Nòva”, which returns in 1.5 km to the Col dei Faghèri junction, and then to the starting point. In this last flat part of the route, you cross the farmhouses of Solàn, with a nice little shrine dedicated to Saint James, the patron of pilgrims, and, shortly after, the traditional “béora”, a large dry-stone fountain.
