San Martino - Malga Tognola towards Cima Tognola

This route starts from the car park of the Alpe Tognòla ski circuit base station at 1,400 m asl, and runs up the initial ascent alongside the Tognola forest, covering an elevation gain of about 800 m.

 A gentle climb to Malga Crél characterises the first part of the ascent towards Cima Tognòla. Having reached Malga Crél, the forest begins to open up, allowing broad views of the panorama and Pala Group. As the vegetation gradually thins out, the itinerary continues to climb until reaching one of the Alpe Tognola peaks (2,164 m asl).

After passing the highest bridge of the trail, a long descent begins, closing the loop that brings you back to the starting point. The descent along the ski slope passes by Malga Tognòla, where a short break can be taken before embarking on the Sentiero Ecologico trail, which brings you back to the starting point of the hike.

The simple nature of this route allows you to spend the day immersed in the alpine environment, with the possibility to stop in the numerous meadows along the way to take in the views.

Safety instructions

The whole itinerary is extremely well signposted with yellow signs on the trees representing a skier. In practical terms, getting lost is simply impossible.
