San Martino di Castrozza - Valcigolera Alpine Pasture

A hike that starts in the village of San Martino di Castrozza and leads to Malga Valcigolera along a forest road and trail through the woodsFrom the center of San Martino di Castrozza, head toward the Scacciapensieri area, passing the Palazzetto dello Sport and Laghetto Plank. From Scacciapensieri, follow the signs for Malga Valcigolera along the forest road that climbs through the woods of the valley of the same name. After an initial stretch on the forest road, you can choose whether to continue on the same road to the mountain hut or take a detour onto the trail. This alternative is slightly steeper but saves about 10 minutes. The route runs almost entirely through the woods, but once you reach the mountain hut, you’ll be treated to a beautiful view of the Pale di San Martino.This route is especially recommended in the summer, as it stays in the shade for most of the way; the mountain hut is also open during the winter and can be reached on foot (or with snowshoes or touring skis if there is snow) via the same route as the summer trail
