Third stage of the Primiero Slow Tour from Rifugio Caltena to Rifugio Fonteghi passing through the meadows of San Giovanni and the suspension bridge over the Rio Neva

The route starts from Rifugio Caltena following the paved road that descends into the meadows below (trail marker 726) until reaching a fork at Poit locality. From here, descending briefly to the right you find a sign on the left indicating "Cordogné-San Giovanni". Taking the path (trail marker 728A) you climb through a wooded environment until reaching the ridge of the mountain, then follow it southwest for about 1 km. This part of the route, very panoramic, allows you to admire the landscape of the Vette Feltrine and is complemented by a series of informative signs and wooden benches. In the final part, the path descends to meet a forest road at Falasorni. Turning left on the road you continue to the meadows of San Giovanni, a place dear to the inhabitants of Mezzano, where there is also a particularly beautiful small church with a panoramic view of the Vette Feltrine group. From San Giovanni continue towards Poit where, always following trail marker 726, you reach the meadows of Iner before descending into the woods to Val de Riva. At the end of the descent you see the suspension bridge over the Rio Giasinozza (30 meters high and 70 meters long), built in 2018. After crossing the bridge, you climb for the remaining 20 minutes of walking until you reach Rifugio Fonteghi, the end point of this third stage.
