Hike around the majestic Mount Mulaz trough stunning Dolomites scenery This tour circumnavigates the majestic Monte Mulaz, in the Pale di San Martino Group, and is sparsely frequented, despite being one of the most fascinating itineraries in all the Dolomites. The route initially winds its way up the emerald green Val Venegia, which soon offers breathtaking views of the vertical walls of Cimon della Pala, Cima Vezzana and Bureloni. It then climbs uphill to the foot of the majestic huge Dolomite walls of the Campanile di Valgrande and Cima Focobon, near Passo di Mulaz. After touching Rifugio Volpi al Mulaz, the last stretch of this circular route passes beneath the green Cima Venegiota, where there’s a pass back into the Val Venegia. An immensely rewarding itinerary for skilled trekkers. From Rifugio Volpi al Mulaz hut you can climb to the incredible summit of Monte Mulaz ( 2903 m ), a scenic balcony offering unique views; this stretch, however, requires careful treading and a good mountain trekking experience.  From Rifugio Volpi al Mulaz you can climb up to the fabulous summit of Monte Mulaz ( 2903 m ), a scenic balcony offering unique breathtaking views. Take a track (no SAT markings) that requires careful treading and the capacity to move on rocky and exposed terrain. This alternative route is reserved to expert and well-trained trekkers. If you want to go right up to the summit, follow these indications: from the pass take the track that climbs up on a gravel deposit against the east flank of Monte Mulaz. The track bends left onto a sort of ridge, from where you can reach a detritic ledge which you can follow crossing from the left to the right and thus circumventing a rocky spur. At the end of the ledge climb on the left up to the summit, from which there are breathtaking views across to the Pale di San Martino Group and the entire Val Venegia ( 1000 m below). Trace your steps back to Passo Mulaz.
