Lago di Calaita – Cima Folga – Cima Grugola – Lago Pisorno

This hike is a loop that covers the western boundary of the Lagorai group, between Vanoi, Primiero, and Passo Rolle, reaching two minor peaks, Cima Folga and Cima Grugola.This hike starts from the well-known Lago di Calaita, a small lake located at the eastern corner of the Lagorai group. The first part of the hike develops in the forest. Once you reach Malga Grugola, climbing along the Grugola stream, the view opens up and the vegetation becomes less dense, allowing you to enter the magical landscape of the Lagorai. After Forcella Folga, the route is not perfectly marked, but the terrain is not difficult and it is easy to walk uphill on the grass toward Cima Folga. Once at Cima Folga, you will have a panoramic view of one of the most beautiful views over the Lagorai, with the possibility of a joint view of the Vette Feltrine and Pale di San Martino. From the summit, the hike continues along the ridge (with some small technical steps) to the nearby Cima Grugola, then quickly descends to Forcella Grugola. On the way back to Lago di Calaita, it is possible to take a short detour to Lago Pisorno (just below the summit of Cima D'Arzon). According to legend, Lago Pisorno is inhabited by spirits that cause a storm whenever someone throws stones in the lake; thus, no one has ever been able to say what is inside the lake or its depth. The trekking ends with the descent back to Lago di Calaita.It is recommended for hikers seeking peace and nature in a fairly easy-to-follow setting. Additionally, the trail leading to Forcella Folga has been recently renovated.
