The Giant Fir Trail is an extraordinary and wild place, filled with centuries-old trees that, with their impressive heights, seem to reach up and touch the sky.
Here, spruce trees, white firs, as well as beech and yew trees, have been the silent guardians of the Noana Valley for centuries, and in recent years they have become the undisputed stars of two magical and evocative trails that allow you to tiptoe into the heart of the forest, discover its atmosphere, and, above all, savor its silence. We recommend the short trail, which starts near the Valpiana Forest Lodge, just 6 kilometers from the village of Mezzano, one of Italy’s Most Beautiful Villages. As you walk along the 2.7-kilometer loop, you’ll feel as though you’re in the heart of a vast forest, but at times you’ll also come across open meadows and scenic viewpoints from which to admire the breathtaking beauty of the Dolomites.
