Route that descends from Rifugio Pradidali to San Martino di Castrozza passing through Passo di Ball, then following trail 702 of Barone Von Lesser
The trekking starts from Rifugio Pradidali (2278 m) from which Passo di Ball is reached in about 20 minutes (trail 715, part of the Alta Via number 2); upon reaching Passo di Ball, you proceed for several hundred meters on a rocky ledge equipped with a safety metal cable; although not classified as a via ferrata, it is recommended to carry the kit with harness and carabiners; after the equipped section, continue along trail 715 until reaching the area Col dei Bechi; here, after crossing trail 702 of Barone Von Lesser, you begin to gradually descend on a panoramic and never too steep path where you can enjoy views of the Pale di San Martino group (in particular Cima Val di Roda, Cima Immink and the Pala di San Martino); the descent continues until crossing the forest road of Val di Roda; at this point follow the signs for the trail that leads to Prati Col and then with an additional 20 minutes walk to the town center of San Martino di Castrozza.
