Col-Fonteghi Loop Trail

The Col–Rifugio Fonteghi loop is a hiking trail that runs along a stretch of Lake Val Noana and passes by the scenic walkways located above the Sguaz de Col waterfall.From the Fonteghi Mountain Hut, cross the bridge you see on the left and head up toward Col, following the signs for the Val de Riva rope bridge. Once you reach the end of the meadows, the trail forks; follow the signs and descend toward the canyon. In about a quarter of an hour, you’ll reach the panoramic viewpoint above the Sguaz de Col. Once you reach the scenic footbridge, the trail climbs again; when you reach the paved road, turn left to return to the Fonteghi Mountain Hut.The trail has a few short but very steep descents, so it’s best to wear athletic clothing and hiking shoes. The Val Noana road is a mountain road—paved but narrow, with limited visibility in some places. IT IS THEREFORE NOT ACCESSIBLE TO RVs, TRUCKS, or other large vehicles.
