Bridge over the Rio San Piero in Funi, Mezzano

The cable-stayed bridge over the Rio San Pietro is a picturesque bridge about 70 meters long, suspended 30 meters above the Rio San Pietro, which flows through the valley that marks the border between the municipalities of Mezzano and Imèr.The starting point is located in front of the Mezzano tourist office, in Piazza Mons. Orler. From here, take the road that runs between the Town Hall on the right and the Cassa Rurale on the left, and continue uphill to the intersection with Via Molaren. Continue along Via Molaren, leaving the village behind, and after crossing a bridge, take the third road on the left, Via delle Strente. Once you reach the top of the road, in the Frontàl area (where you’ll find a fountain), turn left onto Via Nova, a narrow dirt road that runs halfway up the slope of Monte Bedolè, and continue along it until you return to the paved road. Here, on the other side of the road, the trail continues and leads to the bridge in about ten minutes. After crossing the bridge, continue along the flat path until you reach the SAT E378 sign pointing toward the Colladina meadows. Once in the meadow, descend again onto the road leading to the Church of Imer. Just below the church, cross a small wooden bridge and climb back up on the other side until you find, among the last houses high up in the village, the sign pointing toward Mezzano. Here begins a narrow path through the meadows, winding through fields and fruit trees, which leads to the historic center of Mezzano. From there, it takes just a few minutes to reach Piazza Brolo and the Tourist Office again.There is only one fountain with drinking water along the route, except for those found at the end of the route in the historic center of Mezzano. The first part of the route involves walking uphill along a paved road that is fully exposed to the sun; therefore, it is not recommended to walk this route during the hottest hours of the day.
