Seydou and Moussa, sixteen-year-old Senegalese boys, secretly leave Dakar to reach Europe and become singers. They cross Mali and Niger facing difficulties and losses in the desert, until they are imprisoned in Libya by traffickers who demand ransoms. Seydou is tortured but then, with Martin, works as a slave and gains freedom, reaching Tripoli where he finds Moussa injured. To save him, he agrees to steer a boat to Italy, managing to reach the territorial waters and being rescued, but with no certainty about the future. Directed by: Matteo Garrone.
