Gigino, a foolish nephew, has been living in Castello Tesino for years at the expense of his uncle Felice from Val di Non. To extract more and more money from him, he convinces him he is a medical student, and under this pretense, his uncle unwittingly funds all his vices. But suddenly, unexpectedly, the uncle arrives in Castello with his wife and daughter Melinda. Not knowing what to do, Gigino invents that the boarding house he is living in for free is actually a mental hospital and that its guests are actually madmen who believe they are the owner of the boarding house, a retired major, a musician, etc. The only sane one, uncle Felice, risks being taken for crazy… but…..
