The story is set in the fabulous 1960s, the years of economic boom and rebirth. Commander Gervasio is a convinced superstitious person, business is not going well, and he blames everything on Belisario Malvurio, his employee, whom he attributes negative influences. There are also problems in the family: His daughter Rosetta is in love with a young man whom the commander does not know but believes is not worthy of the girl. Everything seems to be resolved when a young employee comes to the company looking for work… Toni!
Toni has a significant physical defect, but it suits the commander perfectly. Business suddenly prospers and starts to go well again, and the daughter seems to have finally regained her serenity. The young man she was hopelessly in love with has become a distant memory. Everything is sailing smoothly, and the difficulties are almost always smoothed over thanks to Toni’s intervention. But chaos arrives suddenly when Toni confides in the commander….. the ending is absolutely unexpected.
