Winning project of the Vandùgola 2024 theater residency call. Mater Nostra is the first chapter of the Trilogy of Disruptive Sacred Elements that investigates female figures in Western spiritualities. In Mater Nostra, we explore women in the Bible: from Eve, born from Adam's rib, to Mary, a non-divine medium who fulfills the Father's will through obedience. From barren matriarchs whom God grants the gift of fertility, to forgotten warrior women in the Old Testament. What do these representations tell us about the role of the feminine in our present? And how do they influence it?
