Primiero, heart of the Paneveggio – Pale di San Martino Natural Park, will frame the Primiero Dolomiti Marathon, the event organized by U.S. PRIMIERO ASD, capable of involving running enthusiasts and mountain lovers.

Three breathtaking routes of different lengths and difficulties (42K, 26K, 16K), accessible without particular technical equipment.

PRIMIERO DOLOMITI MARATHON: 42 K

Start at 8:30 a.m.: Villa Welsperg in Val Canali       Finish: centro Fiera di Primiero

The start takes place at Villa Welsperg in Val Canali, one of the most beautiful valleys in the entire Dolomitic landscape.
Villa Welsperg, built in the mid-1800s, is now the headquarters of the Paneveggio – Pale di San Martino Natural Park Authority.
The race passes through scenic locations in Primiero, crosses San Martino di Castrozza to arrive at the historic center of Fiera di Primiero.
The route, after departing from the meadows of Villa Welsperg, gently ascends on a road section to reach the beautiful location of Piereni, at the foot of the Pale di San Martino.
Leaving the meadows behind, a rolling section in the woods leads to the places Belvedere, Strine, Poline, and Dagnoli, passing alongside characteristic chalets with a view of the valley and a beautiful sight of the Lagorai chain.
A short trail leads the athletes to the Prati Ronzi, from here a forest road first in switchbacks continues on a path that leads to the locality of Sora Ronz, the starting point for the Velo della Madonna refuge.
In a short time, you arrive in San Martino passing through the malga Val di Roda and the Col meadows.
Leaving San Martino, you travel the forest road that leads to Malga Crel to then reach the “Lago di Calaita”, the highest point of the route.
The route runs along the Lozen valley, through paths and forest roads until Passo Gobbera, a characteristic village of the Vanoi Valley.
A mountain road slopes gently, gradually leading to the finish in Fiera di Primiero, passing over the towns of Imer and Mezzano.
