Tobia, owner of a small farm, and Maria, a young musician tired of city life, meet, fall in love, and get married. After an initial happy period spent in the countryside, Maria starts to feel nostalgic for her friends, shops, theaters, cinemas, the hairdresser,... And moreover... she hasn't stopped dreaming of becoming a singer!
One day Maria receives a phone call from a theater in New York: a famous theatrical impresario, Norbert De Rino, wants to audition her. Under the pretense of going on a honeymoon, Maria convinces Tobia to go to New York, even bringing along some animals (the cow for milk, the hens for eggs, and the pig... in case of emergency).
Will they succeed on Broadway? Will they decide to move there forever? Or will they prefer to return to the tranquility of country life? As in all the shows of “The theater of trifles”, the songs are performed live and are original, except for a small quote from a famous piece that couldn't be missed: New York New York.
We look forward to discovering what will happen to Tobia, Maria, and the farm animals among the streets of the Big Apple and the bushes of Central Park.
