Heisenberg and Schrödinger, but not only them: quantum mechanics turns 100 years old. With Prof. Giulio Peruzzi, History of Physics, History of Science
and Technology of the Department of Physics and Astronomy “G.Galilei” University of Padova.

Between the second half of 1925 and the first half of 1926, quantum mechanics was born, whose applications are now at the basis of both cutting-edge research and many everyday tools. What is its genesis? What are its features? And what are its consequences? These are all questions that this meeting will seek to answer.

Giulio Peruzzi: having obtained a degree and a doctorate in physics, he has conducted his research activities in the history of physics from the XVI to the XX century, foundations of quantum mechanics, and philosophy of physics. He is currently a professor of history of physics and history of science and technology at the Department of
Physics and Astronomy of the University of Padova. Long engaged in scientific dissemination activities, since 2014 he has been the Director of the Master in science communication at the University of Padova.

This “Public Lecture” – is held on the occasion of the XX International Meeting on “Selected Topics in Nuclear and Atomic Physics” – which is traditionally held in Fiera di Primiero.

Fiera di Primiero, Intermunicipal Library, 9:00 p.m.
