A talk & taste with the Ecomuseum of Vanoi dedicated to the Calendar of Memory. It is a suggestive map of time that visually represents the rhythms of work and celebration in the Vanoi Valley during the first half of the twentieth century.
It is a large handcrafted tapestry, created between 2004 and 2005, measuring 2 meters by 2 and consisting of 16 squares, each dedicated to a month of the year. This collective work is the result of collaboration among various skills: historical memory, embroidery skills, and artistic creativity.
The Calendar of Memory is much more than a decorative piece: it is a identitary mirror for the community, a key element of the ecomuseum network of Vanoi, capable of telling and passing down traditions, values, and local culture.
