At the end of a spectacular trekking in the heart of the Paneveggio Pale di San Martino Natural Park, which hosts the largest Dolomite group, part of the Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage Site, Mario Brunello, artistic director of I Suoni delle Dolomiti since its first edition, an internationally renowned Italian cellist, will once again engage in dialogue with another exceptional musician, the French violinist Gilles Apap, famous not only for his virtuosic interpretations of classic repertoire but also for his explorations in the realms of jazz and folk music.
The venue for the event is the Col meadows, a beautiful grassy plateau above San Martino di Castrozza, a FAI site where Avelignese horses often graze, with an exceptional view of the profiles of Sass Maor and Cima della Madonna, the bell towers of Val di Roda, the Pala di San Martino, nearby Cima Rosetta, and then to the north, Cimon della Pala.
Brunello, with his 17th-century cello, has played with the most prestigious orchestras, from the London Symphony to the La Scala Philharmonic, from the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia to the London Philharmonic Orchestra and the Philadelphia Orchestra, but he has always enjoyed confronting different musical genres and languages. The meeting with Apap, a musician who has followed a very personal and creative musical journey, beyond conventions, thus arises under the best auspices. In the presence of the most beautiful mountains.
How to get there: from San Martino di Castrozza on foot along the road and then on the trail following the festival signs, 20 minutes walk, elevation gain of 30 meters, difficulty T.
San Martino di Castrozza, Prati Col, 12:00 PM (in case of bad weather, the concert is moved to 11:00 AM at the Congress Hall in San Martino di Castrozza)
