Excursion with SAT Primiero at the mining center of Vallalta and Sagron Mis, the Macatoch mining complex, and the village of California with geologist and speleologist Manuel Conedera.
There was also a thriving mining activity in Gosaldo, as well as in other areas of the Agordino territory. In this village, the rush to the underground was due to the presence of mercury in the form of cinnabar, as well as small deposits of precious metals. The mining area was located at the foot of Sass Largo, Piz di Sagron and Cima della Sella, at the confluence of the Mis and Pezzea streams near the old settlement of California.
