Screening of the documentary film "Simon Messner out of the Shadows".
Simon Messner, the third son of the climbing legend Reinhold Messner, sets off in the summer of 2025 for Pakistan where he will attempt his first ascent of Chumik Kangri, which stands at 6,754 meters in the Karakoram mountain range. Becoming a climber against his father's wishes and having overcome his fear of heights, Simon has already completed over forty ascents in recent years. But when he himself becomes a father, the adventure takes on a different meaning for the first time. Marked by emotional distance from Reinhold, Simon begins to question not only the upcoming climb but also the motivations that have driven him all these years.
