Screening of the documentary film "Manaslu - The Mountain of Souls".
Climber, mountain guide, ski instructor, Hans Kammerlander, born in Campo Tures (Bolzano) in 1956, is a record holder for ascents on peaks over eight thousand meters. In 1984, accompanied by Reinhold Messner who wants him as a partner, he accomplishes the feat of summiting Gasherbrum I and II in the span of one week. In 1996, he reaches the summit of Everest without an oxygen mask and descends on skis, holding an unbeaten record that brings him worldwide success and fame. Toughened by the physical labor learned as a child on his parents' farm, in love with the mountains since the age of 8, he has never stopped setting increasingly difficult goals ("Goals are more important than memories" is one of his mottos).
