The Alpe Vederna meadows were the main source of hay for the Primiero stables. In 1970, the Rifugio Vederna was built here - on the edge of Pian Grand, at 1,330 metres above sea level - among mountain farmsteads and the little church of Madonna della Neve (Our Lady of the Snow). It draws all who love rural mountain landscapes and want to enjoy the views over the Primiero valley and the Pale di San Martino from the summit of Monte Vederna. Open On weekends from 15 May to mid-June Every day from 20 June to late October Before leaving for your hike, always contact the manager to verify the actual opening of the mountain hut Walks Monte Vederna can be reached in 1 hour from the refuge on a forest track. Monte Pavione is a 3-hour walk on an easy path via Malga Agnerola and Passo del Pavione. The walk to the Rifugio Fonteghi in Val Noana takes 2 ½ hours but is not particularly difficulty (E).
