Tobia, the owner of a small farm, and Maria, a young musician tired of city life, meet, fall in love, and get married. After an initial happy period spent in the countryside, Maria begins to feel nostalgic for her friends, stores, theaters, cinemas, hairdressers,... Moreover... she hasn't stopped dreaming of becoming a singer!
One day Maria receives a phone call from a theater in New York: a famous theater producer, Norbert De Rino, wants to audition her. Under the pretense of going on a honeymoon, Maria convinces Tobia to go to New York, even bringing along some animals (the cow for milk, chickens for eggs, and the pig... in case of emergency).
Will they succeed on Broadway? Will they decide to move there permanently? Or will they prefer to return to the tranquility of country life? As in all shows by “The Theatre of Trifles,” the songs are sung live and are original, aside from a small quote from a very famous piece, which could not be missed: New York, New York.
We are waiting for you to discover what will happen to Tobia, Maria, and the farm animals among the streets of the Big Apple and the bushes of Central Park.
