Excursion with "craspe"
Into the woods with snowshoes
Even
the less energetic tourists have discovered the pleasure of the
winter excursions with the snowshoes: invented in Canada in
earlier times, were used by Native Americans for hunting, by nomads of
the Arctic areas, and by Alps's mountain to pick up wood into the woods and to carry the hay to the valley.
The
old "craspe" of wood have been replaced by modern
models,in metal or in plastic, which are tied to normal hiking
boots. Learning to use them is really easy, so that even children and old people have been fascinated by this sport.
In
the area of San Martino and Passo Rolle there are a lot of paths where the Alpine
Guides teach to use for the first time the snowshoes or bring expert people: from "Piani della Cavallazza" to the Lakes of Colbricon, from Val
Venegia to plateau of the Pale , from Calaita Lake to Cima Rosetta.
Alpine Guides organize daily excursions with snowshoes in the Natural Park, you can see these excursions into the weekly program "Oltre lo sci".
