The ski area of San Martino di Castrozza and Passo Rolle extends almost entirely within the Natural Park "Paneveggio -
Pale di San Martino", a rare honor with majestic natural forests, wild
animals, rocks and dolomitic huts, where in the summer are produced cheeses for which the valley is famous.
It starts from the biotope Prà Nasse to reach Punta Ces: in the distance you can see the
frozen lakes of Colbricon above which often twirl the eagles.
Going down the track "Direttissima" you can spot chamois intent to burn some tuft of grass in the forest.
After a stop in the rustic Malga Valcigolera the tour continues to
Tognola Peak (2383 m), panoramic experience. At Malga Tognola you can
taste our cheese: the tosèla.
The descent along the "TognolaUno" to Malga Fratazza is one of the
longest and suggestive slope of the Dolomites. After the transfer to the village of San Martino, are achieved with the plant before
the hut, then the Colverde and at the end the 2600 meters of Cima Rosetta.
In an
atmosphere of magical silence, it's a breathtaking panorama of
the plateau Pale, from the Sass Maor Cimon della Pala, with background
on the Marmolada. Rocks, snow and sun everywhere one looks
unforgettable! After a day at altitude, the final descent brings us
back to San Martino, with the last rays of sun and red mountains.
In front of a glass of wine spend the evening listening to the legends of the Dolomites.
