The peaks overlooking the town, thick woods and meadows, a long tourist tradition, a refined atmosphere and the vast skiing carousel: this is what makes San Martino the perfect destination for skiers and high-altitude mountaineers. Offers of accomodation are broad and of excellent quality.
Here you will find some of the best runs in the Dolomites: such as Tognola Uno, featuring many slope drops; Cima Tognola, with a thousand-metre drop, the Direttissima and Cristiania for expert skiers.
The Colverde run is a little easier. It is exposed to the sun all day long and lit at night; ideal for families. Pra’ delle Nasse is the ideal nursery slope for beginners. While at Passo Rolle the Paradiso run takes its name from the heavenly view you can enjoy from the top...
From the Alpe Tognola to Malga Ces, passing through Cima Tognola, Valcigolera and Punta Ces: 45 km of well groomed runs with plenty of snow, serviced by up to date, fast lift facilities with direct access from the town of San Martino.
The slopes have different orientations with respect to the sun, so you can enjoy sunny and perfect skiing conditions from dawn to dusk.
The runs go from malga to malga, through the same meadows that in summer provide precious aromatic grass for grazing cows.
The Colverde run, a nice 2 km red covering 500m gradient, and serviced by a fast cableway, is also equipped for night skiing. The track unwinds through a charming wood with larches and fir trees, just below the Pale rocks and ends in the very centre of San Martino: ideal for evening skiing. The soft light diffused by large luminous balls along the run creates a rather unique atmosphere.
It is located at the edge of the village and boasts three loop trails that wind through the Pra’ delle Nasse biotope, a remarkable marshy land with alder woods and countless frozen brooks. There is an easy trail for beginners, one with medium difficulty accessible to everyone along the wide sunny slopes and a more demanding trail that goes on through the thick fir wood of Colfosco. A wooden hut houses a changing room, storage area and equipment for hire, and is a reference point for the instructors. The trails are serviced daily and the easy/medium trails are equipped with a programmed snow system. The centre can be used upon payment. Accessible with the card Super Nordic Skipass.
