A Journey... in every sense
These are legendary places, framed by the Dolomites: a territory of great contrasts and unbelievable landscapes, rocky peaks, thick forests and wide green fields.
The Road of Cheese of the Dolomites, comprising the Fassa, Fiemme and Primiero Valleys, twists and turns through the heart of the real Trentino, as would a bold downhill ski slope, among the most beautiful characteristic places of this land.
The protagonists in this offer are 72 members who, in conformity with a number of quality standards, work in an effort to promote more than just the dairy products which are produced in the area. A journey along the Road of cheese of the Dolomites is not only a journey into flavours, but also an experience thorough the senses, in space and time.
Thus you can get to know the elegant Fassa Valley, cradle of Ladin cultural and historical heritage, with cheeses such as the Spretz Tsaorì, better known as Puzzone di Moena (stinky Moena’s), and the tasty Nostrano di Fassa produced in Campitello.
The nearby Fiemme Valley, land of the Magnificent Fiemme Community, tells the story and traditions of famous cheeses such as the Dolomiti, the Fontàl, the Valfiemme; renowned products as the goat ricotta cheese and especially the famous Cavalese Goat Cheese to be enjoyed, dulcis in fundo, with the excellent honey produced in these valleys.
Covering the distance to Passo Rolle, you’ll arrive at Primiero: all the flavour of the mountain dairy farms and pristine places such as the nearby Vanoi Valley is contained in the Nostrani (local cheese), the fresh and smoked ricotta, in the Tosèla and even in the butter. It is a journey through the emotions coming from the meeting of your personal history and that of this magnificent land, to be enjoyed unhurriedly in any time and place to discover, in the end, that this was only a beginning.
