From 5th to 12th July Primiero will host the JWOC 2009 - Junior World Orienteering Championships.
This important sport event, that yearly takes place, enrolls the most important international champions under 20 and it awards four important international qualification in a week.
FISO, the Italian Federation of Sport Orienteering together with the support of CONI, the Italian National Olympic Committee, has selected the Primiero Sports Union, to organize this event together with its main partners, the Autonomous Province of Trento, the municipalities of the valley, local county councils, the local Tourist Board, and the Paneveggio Pale of San Martino Nature Park.
The various areas in which the competion will take place is mostly located within the Nature Park: a Park city sprint race, long, middle and relay on alpine terrain with both steep and gently rolling, cropped pasture land, mixed but mainly coniferous woods, with good rock and contour details.
Other events will also be organized at these championships, in particular, a five days international competition, the Dolomites 5 Days 2009.
