Day 1
We arrive in San Martino di Castrozza directly from the airport with the Fly Ski Shuttle, a really convenient service, and an inexpensive one! The children are a little tired from the journey, but luckily we find our weekly passes ready at the hotel thanks to the Hotel Skipass Service. We take care of the suitcases and go straight to the village to rent the equipment. There are quite a few shops along the streets, offering valid equipment to meet everyone’s needs. In the evening we meet the ski instructor in our hotel’s lobby; he gives us some advice on how to prepare the children for the group course due to start tomorrow.

Day 2
It’s 9 o’clock in the morning and our first outing on the slopes is about to begin! We leave the hotel on foot and in a few minutes we reach the Prà delle Nasse field school, where the instructor who will follow our children for the whole week is waiting for us. The children are excited, it is the first time they put on the skis and they cannot wait to try the ascent on the skilift together with their course companions. The day is spectacular and after the few customary snapshots to immortalize their first steps on the snow we too decide to enjoy the morning with a bit of sport. Just in front of the field school there is a beautiful cross-country skiing track, so we rent the equipment and choose the easiest route from the three available ones. The splendid view of the Pale di San Martino and the Lagorai Chain repays any effort and the morning goes quickly by. It is almost one o’clock, we wait for the children at the end of the run and stop by at Bar Scoiattolo, next to the field school and offering excellent hot rolls and quick dishes for all tastes! After lunch the children have fun with their new friends in the playground and on the run devoted to sledges, bobs and inflatables. We sit down, instead, on comfortable armchairs in total relax, enjoying the sunshine. The day is about to end and the Alpenglow timidly appears on the Pale di San Martino: it is time to return to the hotel: the wellness centre will recharge us as we prepare for another fantastic day.

Day 3
Today we shall be reaching high altitudes with the ski school! As the bus stop is just a short walk away from the hotel, we decide to use the skibus service to reach the Tognola gondola cableway early in the morning. Once at 2142 m altitude, we immediately meet our instructor and the children rush to take the Baby field school skilift with their new friends. We spend the day on the Carosello delle Malghe (dairy-hut carousel) runs and, as we ski away, before we know it, it’s lunchtime. We go back to the starting point and we discover that in just two lessons our children are already skilled skiers! After having something to eat at Rifugio Tognola, we allow ourselves some relaxation on the sun terrace, enjoying a unique view of the Pale di San Martino, while the kids play in sight at the Alpe Tognola playground. Since the Kinderheim "La Tana delle Marmotte" offers a convenient babysitting service, we decide to take advantage of it and enjoy a few more descents. Then we return to valley together and the children tell us, all excited, about the afternoon’s manual workshops, games and fairy tales. Another skiing day is over, we return to the hotel tired, but happy!

Day 4
Today we want to do some nice skiing at Passo Rolle. Yesterday they told us that we must absolutely not miss it! Luckily, the hotel where we booked in adheres to the Dolomiti Family Fun initiative, so we can leave our children with the animators who will accompany them, on a dedicated bus, directly to the instructor on the ski slopes. We are now free to board the skibus that will take us in a short time to the Pass. The landscape is charming, from here we can see the Pale di San Martino from a different angle, and the abundant snow makes everything look even more striking. The ski runs are magnificent and offer a choice of several difficulty levels. The morning goes by quickly and it is time to enjoy a typical local dish at Capanna Cervino. There is still time to go back to town, since today we opted to also leave the children with the animators in the afternoon. When we are back, a fantastic outing is expecting us with a horse-drawn troika through San Martino’s woods.

Day 5
After a rich breakfast, we are ready to tackle another unforgettable day on the slopes. The children leave straight away with their new friends, the blue runs no longer scare them! In the afternoon, a full immersion into nature for all of us: the spectacle of the Paneveggio–Pale di San Martino Park with the magic Violin Forest and the deer enclosure. The guide explains to the children how to recognize the animals'' tracks and listen to the silence of the snow-covered woods. They are just ecstatic!

Day 6
The day of departure is fast approaching but, with the same enthusiasm of our first day, we tackle another beautiful day on the snow! After the kids'' skiing course starts, we have an appointment with the Alpine Guide who will take us, walking on snowshoes, to discover new scenery and views around San Martino. Today the children are going to eat with their instructor at the mountain hut, and we take this opportunity to have an excellent lunch at a dairy farm, together with the guide and the group that has built up just for the excursion. Once we are all back at the hotel, we enjoy the peace and relaxation of the wellness centre; we must recover our strength for the evening! Tonight we will do some night skiing at the Colverde – Rosetta facilities!

Day 7
Here we are on the last day of ski school, and by now our children have acquired the skills to face the mini end-of-course competition, always supported by their irreplaceable ski instructors, who have now become our new friends. We spend merrily this last day on the snow. After lunch there is the ski instructors skiing and snowboarding acrobatic show organized by the two ski schools, followed by the torchlight procession for all the children. The afternoon ends with the competition award ceremony and the medal and participation certificate handed out in front of a nice hot chocolate, as we recall the best moments of this family holiday! The dream is over, it is time to pack our suitcases. Tomorrow we will leave, but in our minds we are already planning our return to this beautiful resort.
